There’s nothing better then to get a morning eyeful of a big male lion going about his business 
That’s exactly what we got on morning drive in the Klaserie Nature Reserve a few weeks ago…
We’d already had some great sightings and were on the way back to camp for some brunch when we picked up fresh tracks heading up a cut line… I asked if anyone was REALLY that hungry, of course they all said no, so we followed them and sure enough, next to one of the waterholes, was our big boy!
We watched him drink and then mark territory before lying down on one of the termite mounds. Out of nowhere he started calling out to the rest of the pride… it was awesome!
We headed back to camp armed with a million photos and this beasts call still ringing in our ear… Some say he has now moved into the Balule Reserve and that he has mated with every female in the reserve… All we know is, he’s called The King
